This function answers the question "what" or "who" (c.o.d.). In a sentence such as "I read a book," the last word, should be put in the accusative case since it answers the question "what?". I read what? I read the book. In Mongolian, there are situations where the accusative is not indicated. Therefore, no suffixes added. (ex: Номыг → … the book )
a) Би энэ үзэсгэлэнийг үзсэн. → I saw cette exposition.
b) Тэр намайг харж байна. → He / She is looking at me.
c) Чи энэ ажлыг хийсэн. → You did this work.
d) Би энэ киног үзсэн. → I saw this film.
e) Тэд түүнийг өөрөө харсан → They saw him/her themselves.
